Epik Engineering was formed in June 2016by Ross Butler.
As an ownerof a rental company and an end user of truss products, he knew he wanted a better quality of truss than what was available. So Ross started EE and he didn¡¯t want to be just another truss company, he wanted EE to stand out from the others
Securing a 1600sq/mtr factory, we started purchasing all new equipment required to make better truss. We modified some of these machines and designed custom made machines all to meet EE¡¯shigh standards.
It took EE another 3 months of testing and fine tuning this equipment and training the staff up to our standard before we were ready to start taking orders. The words got out and soon the factory was in full production.
All the feedback we have been getting is positive. One of the clients has reduced their load-in time from 6 days down to just 4 days and the load-out which used to takethem 3 days was down to just 1 and a half days. This saved them a lot of money. ¡°This saving was all because of the precision of the EE truss and the modifications made to the designs of some items. That¡¯s what we were looking for¡±,commented the customer.
We have gone further. To ensure that we only use the best quality materials, we went right back to the raw materials. We now buy our own rods of aluminium and we could get it tested independently to make sure our products we of the highest quality. These are solid 250mm X 6000mm rods of mainly 6061 T6 or 6082 T6 alloy. We got the extrusion company to make our own new dies solely for our use we mainly use so we can guarantee the accuracy of the raw materials.

Ross has worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, and has designed and built outdoor stages for Brown United, All Access Staging & Productions, World Stages.He also independently toured internationally as a head rigger, head carpenter, and stage managed some of the biggest artist. Over the years, Ross knew what had to be achieved and had an uncanny ability to achieve what was required whether it was speed of deployment, working with tight and limited schedules
Ross hasalso been instrumental and made his mark in the film industry coming up with amazing rigging solution for such movies as Unbroken, San Andreas, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, The Shallows, Kong¡¯s Island and most recently Thor 3.
